Instructional Leadership Coaching: Developing a Community of Practice

In this one-week program, participants will gain increased knowledge of instructional coaching best practices and proven techniques to integrate into the classroom.

June 25-28, 2019

Schools and districts across the country use a variety of models and structures for teacher coaching programs. At its core, instructional coaching seeks to provide an opportunity for ongoing, job-embedded professional development to improve teacher practices and student learning. Participants will:

  • practice a variety of strategies that can be used to develop relationships with all stakeholders
  • assess teaching from videos and examine the critical components of instructional planning and delivery
  • evaluate student work for alignment with state standards, assessments, and instructional activities
  • pose coaching problems and/or dilemmas that are commonly encountered in order to develop strategies from peer feedback

Please note:  Participants are required to bring a laptop or tablet to class each day.
