Our education programs are based on five key pillars: creating environments where students discover and construct meaning from content, understanding and serving the needs of diverse learners, incorporating authentic assessments, integrating educational technologies and digital learning into curriculum, and developing instructional and organizational leaders. Through our Master of Arts in Teaching program and its organizational leadership pathway, emphasis is placed on equipping students with transformational leadership skills required of successful education change makers. This pathway includes a state of Texas Principal Certification. In addition, the Rice Principal Certification program is appropriate for educators who already hold a master's degree and a Texas teaching certificate and seek focused training in educational leadership. This eighteen-month program is designed for K-12 educators that have at least two years of teaching experience and are motivated to learn the skills necessary to be an effective school leader.
